LMR CAD Team - README

Rudolph_adm's picture

To extend the idea for a place to share CAD files, LMR now has this forum specifically for the purpose. Please keep your posts on-topic.

To attach a CAD library to a post, please wrap your files up in a .zip or .tar.gz archive. Rather than adding potentially dozens of file extensions to the "allowed" list, this will make it less likely to forget some.

This post will be updated with more intelligent information, because I don't have a clue what I'm talking about when it comes to CAD.

Designing the new body for my robot...

hugo_nl's picture

The first robot that I have ever made currently has a cardboard body. As one can imagine, cardboard has its limits, both in durability and aestetics..  So the last few weeks I decided to look around for another material... I wanted something that is relatively easy to form and work with and not needing a whole set of new, special, tools... I came across plexiglass as an alternative and my choice was quickly made.

This is a simple Arduino Light seeker. It has an Arduino Duemilinove on board. It is powered by 2 AA batteries for logic( with boost converter), and 4 AA batteries … Read more

Sketch to CAD?

Thomas Countz's picture

I have a paper & pencil sketch of my robotic design and I was wondering if there is anyway to easily create a CAD model by scanning my sketch into the computer. I user Google SketchUp and Alibre Xpress (yeah I'm cheap) and I can't afford anything "more advanced".  If there's anyway to do this, I would love to know, or if you could point me to a tutorial, that would be greatly appreciated.
