MAKE: Transatlantic Drone Takes to the Sea

The Scout Transatlantic project has broken the world record for the furthest distance traveled by an autonomous unmanned boat, and it is just getting started. Read more on MAKE...

Float, sail, tow, look small in the middle of a pond, harrass submarines
Hi. This is my first project post (but not my first project), so sorry if I've done anything wrong. I'm not sure if I'm OK to post this, as it is an RC model, but … Read more

Autonomous transatlantic boat

While exploring the LMR website, I came across a couple of autonomous boat projects that looked really cool. They reminded me of another project that I've been watching for a while now called the Scout Transatlantic Project. If you haven't seen it, it's an 8 foot long carbon/kevlar boat, controlled by an arduino mega, and powered by solar panels and lipos. Enjoy.

Need help with a solar-powered boat robot

Hi,

Two friends and I are starting to make a solar-powered boat for a competition (here's the link: http://techfest.org/competitions/torque/solarsplash/), and we need a little help. We're beginners with no previous experience.

ROV submarine

I playing with the idea of building a ROV.

A ROV is a Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle.

I plan to start simple, with a webcam connected to a computer, and 3 motors with propellers controlled by switches, all of it strapped to a frame of sealed plastic tubes. Something close to this instructable

But the robot geek in me wont stop there! I want to build:

A moisture sensor (to warn if the electronics compartment has sprung a leak)
