IRIS System - update 4

 I pretty much have the sound systems up and running, the speakers are working great with some minor audio distortion (but that's probably because when I tested it, I didn't have the capacitors in). The microphone on the other hand is having some issues. I'm using the circuit from the demo board and the microphone to headphones object, but the audio I get back is very grainy. To get anything at all, I have to be within an inch of the mic. (could be because I yanked it out of an old phone). But overall, I get some audio.


IRIS System - update 3

 Just a quick update on the ststus of IRIS. I got the wii nunchuck to work with my prop. fairly quickly using a connector from adifruit. I still can't seem to work out the prop. to picaxe serial, though. But the real news is, I've decided to put the code up on github so anyone can help to improve it and reuse the code. IRIS System - update 2

 I've worked on this alot latley. It's an improved version of my text editor. Basically, it was made to test the keyboard input and TV output for the propeller, but ended up being alot more work than it was worth. In the end, I just realized that I only needed to use the ending string (13, 10). Only some minor problems remain: no tv objects will work unless the prop. is plugged into the computer and no spaces show up when using the read method. Here's the code:

Battery charging



I have this battery:

it has 6V, 1.3Ah... I don't have a charger... on the side says:


cycle use charge 7.25 - 7.45V

Trickle charge: 6.8 - 6.9V

and something about 0.4A


Voice controlled room

I have an idea about a voice controlled room.

I would use an atmega8-16PU to switch lamp and other items on

I have an old pc laying in my room with windows 2000.

It has a serial port, a parallel port and 2 usb ports.

I want it to interface with my atmega8, but I am wondering how you use voice control with it.

I could also use an arduino, but for now I am thinking it al out.

This is an idea for home automation.


So does anybody now how I would program my pc for voice control.
