Displays the time in binary
Hi, this is a binary clock that I made for fun out of a Teensy 2.0, some 3mm leds, and RTC, and a 3D printed shell. It displays the current time(in 24-hour … Read more

Can't figure out how this 4 digit display works

Sorry this isn't really a robot related question, just an electronics one.

I was cruising through a local electronics shop. They have lots of salvaged parts. They had a whole box of old 4 digit LED clock displays. Since they were only about $3, I picked one up. My son wanted to build a clock.

After working through all the connections, here's the schematic.

picaxe 08M and servo/servopos - frequency problems?

Is this true? I am a total newb on the 08M, so the manual is full of surprises to me.

It states: "The servo command will function correctly at 4MHz on all parts (except X2, which only function at 8 or 32MHz).  16MHz  is also supported on X1 parts. No other frequency will work correctly".

Does that mean that I will have to underclock my 08M from 8 MHz to 4 MHz in order to use the servo command?

Problem with I2C mode of 16f877a

I am having problem with I2C mode of 16f877a. I wrote a code for I2C ranging mode of the SRF02 sensors. At first I thought the problem was with the code, but then I debugged the circuit a little; the code is as below:

Binary Clock Parts

Hey guys, I was thinking of making a binary clock. I don't want this to end up being the typical Dent work- I want this to be good looking and long lasting. It's going to be hung up on one of our walls, so I must be very precise.

Right now, I'm trying to find the right parts. I'll be spending my parent's money after all, so I want this to stay cheap (but still look good!) and I wanna get all the right parts the first time around.

alarm clock

im planning to use  Serial lcd with clock upgrade as a timer in my project.unfortunetly i have a problem with the programming (serial connection)

for displaying the time  on the LCD the syntax is

init: pause 500

main :serout 7,N2400,(1)

         pause 10

         serout 7,N2400,(0)

         pause 490

         goto main

for the alarm clock syntax

init: pause 500
