Parallax Board of Education board + extras

Prettybird's picture

This is a collection of items to make up a complete Parallax Board of Education training kit. The Basic stamp is a new BS2P processor which is faster, more memory and comands then the original Basic Stamp2. It retails for $79.99. The board is in mint condition (only used a few times) and tested before listing. Everything else is new except the USB cable I used with my camera a few times. Parallax retail value of over $190, not counting the cable and un-opened bag of electronic parts that go with the book.

Polyplasticy goodness

Been rummaging around every local store in search for the perfect container for the M134 controls (read lunchbox)

And so after heavily customizing an ikea 'lunchable-accessories' box I happen upon one of my favorite mischellaneous electronics sites, the one where you put all the crap that really doesnt work in a shiny aerodynamic case that makes whatever whizzbang youve made look really professional, and as an added bonus make anyone operating it and not getting it to work feel like a complete idiot.

Other electronics (not necessarily robotic)

A place for the discussion TofuRobot brought up regarding other electronic projects. Instead of being lost to the shoutbox nether regions, here's a screenshot of the beginning.

Personally, I think tip/walkthrough would be the right place for stuff that can also apply to robotics. Non-robotics (like the carduino example) would go in a blog.

Another great idea that I didn't have

The Arduino Experimentation Kit (from oomlout) is a pretty damn slick thing. Usually I'm one of the shit talkers about Oomlout's stuff (they think a lot of their laser cut plastic). This thing isn't quite as pricey as I'd expect from them though. At 80 USD it _might_ actually be worth buying the kit instead of ordering parts from different places (and then paying multiple shipping charges).

Punchable/stompable switch

TheCowGod's picture

Hi, guys. I remember reading somewhere (maybe LMR, maybe Make Magazine?) about a DIY way to make a sort of electrical switch that closed a circuit when it was punched or stomped. It had something to do with a layer of foam between two contacts -- maybe the foam was partially conductive or something? I'm working on a musical project that involves recreating something similar to a DDR dance pad, and I'm trying to figure out how to make the pads. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and maybe have a link or something? Or does anyone have any ideas that might prove useful? Thanks.

Price: $30.6 USD

LED fun!

i think this little project would be good for your programming and electronics.

it looks like a lot of fun.
