Wild Thumper Responds Briefly to RC, then stops

[apologies, I was sure I posted this but cannot find any evidence of this post on the website. Please ignore if it is a dup]

I have a Wild Thumper on a standard Dagu chassis using the sample firmware.  Flysky 3-channel RC transmitter, hooked up to D0, D1.

7.2V nicad charged up and attached.  Demonstrated that the motors are driven using the diagnostic Arduino Wild Thumper code.

With the RC, I can get the motors to move in the right direction (power, steering) for maybe a 1/2 second then it stops dead.

This suggests something about the current sensing.

RC Robot Car wheels turn too slowly

I have just put together a basic rc robot car, based on an arduino uno, motor shield (as I fried the original circuit board trying to measure voltages :) and of course a basic rc car (new bright). I can get the car to turn its wheels left and right and get the wheels to go forwards and backwards (when in the air) however the forwards and backward wheel speed is lacklustre (analogwrite(11, 255)- to the point where if place it on then ground the wheels don't turn and the car doesn't move. If I connect the rear wheels to the battery directly (9v battery) the wheels turn ok.

T'REX robot controller

The T'REX robot controller makes controlling robots easy!

The Arduino compatible controller comes pre-programmed with sample code that lets you control it with a supplied Android app, Radio Control or with an external controller via I²C.

RX TX pair of small RC car Project

Hello Guys,

Had been away for a while..

Missed you all.

So this time I am working on a project of a RC car

Small on easy one yet i am stuck in the RC part of it...

I want it simple,

I know I can achieve this with Arduino XBees and all but this time I wanna keep this simple..

I want a TX RX pair with which i can just run the motor with the help of a switch..

thats it...

Just a button connected to TX and a motor connected to the RX along with the battery

What quadcopter should I get for free!?

Guys,

I have a unique problem. There is some money at where I work that needs to be spent fast. I would like to spend it on a quadrotor but I haven't ever looked into buying one. There are tons of options but little time. Is there a quadrotor that any of you would recommend? I'd like to get a full kit with transmitter and everything. I could probably get away with spending $500 US. I don't really have a plan for what I'll do with it yet, its just the perfect opportunity for me to get one.

Thanks,

Aaron

Base for paintball rc robot

Hi! This is my first blogpost here, so bare with me.

This will not be the first robot I build, even though I think it could be done by scavaging parts from different finished products. I'm thinking of building an rc paintball car with a camera on it for navigation. Would something like this be useable? http://www.hobbytron.com/HobbyEnginePremiumLabelConstructionCraneTruck11824GhzRTRRC.html#

Need help controlling Traxxas ESC and Servo with Arduino

I'm working on an autonomous ground vehicle, guided by a U-BLOX Neo 6m GPS Module, and HMC5883l compass.

The ESC connects to the 7.2 NiMH Battery pack and is supposed to be connected to a RC receiver with a standard 3 wire servo cable, it also provides 6 volt regulated power from the same cable. Because the power is too high for an Arduino, I used a separate 5 volt power supply for the rest of the electronics, except the steering servo. Using a separate power supply makes the ESC and servo uncontrollable, creating a lot of jitter.

Car alarm remote control repurposing

A while ago, I got hold of a car alarm unit and its two remote control fobs. When i hooked it up to 12V I realized that it didn’t  work, not responding to any of the commands from the two fobs even though their batteries were OK. Naturally, I opened up the unit to start harvesting parts and noticed the RF module within (the one that sticks out perpendicularly) and I figured it shouldn’t be too hard to use the module with an Arduino.

Controlling an Arduino with a standard RC transmitter/receiver

There are many ways to remote control an Arduino, Xbee, RF link, IR…

I decided to try and use something I had laying around and that is common among large group of hobbyist : RC transmitter and receiver pair

Well, my prototype remote controller is nearly finished now.

Bellow you can see the ON/OFF switch placement (that's for you Hoff).

The backside of the board after a hand of nail polish (yeah, I know, yet another archaic method). Also notice the little blue jumper wire that I had to add to correct Eagle's auto-routing mistake (and my blindness to detect it at the that time).

Little Black Duck - 12g, 2Kg/cm miniature servos from DAGU

Have you ever built a robot and then found your miniature servos were not quite strong enough?
Get yourself a flock of ducks! DAGU's little black ducks!

DAGU are now selling a 2Kg/cm servo that is only slightly taller than a standard miniature servo. The height difference allows for thicker, stronger gears and a bearing to support the load.

RC aircraft model

Well After a year joining LMR..

I have finally starded to work on the real reason to join LMR...

Make a RC aircraft...

I have got all the materials and dont tell me about the materials/requirements for that...

Just please suggest me designs.. for it... I had few designs in mind but after surfin the net and knowing there are so lots and loads of designs to make, I got confused..

I am using dapron.

I want designs.. not any part of electronics...

Magnetic servo clutches from DAGU

After years of being frusatrated by stripped gears in my servos I have finally done something about it. DAGU is now producing servo clutches to suit 8g and 9g miniature servos.

Unlike normal servo savers, Dagu servo clutches can be continuously rotated without damage to the clutch or the servo. They look like a servo horn but are a few millimeters thicker. They can be configured for both standard and continuous rotation servos. Here are some common configurations:

How do I set up a RC control system. Cheep.

I am going to try to make a small cheep telepresence bot using a board of education and an Ipod touch (for the actual chatting) and I was wondering how I should control it. I am trying not to use a another microprocessor.

Arduino/ servo/ RC basics

I'll start off admitting that I'm a complete novice at robot building, so pardon me for what is probably stupid questions. I have bought an arduino with the intention of building a robot and have an idea of doing so mainly with servos, and I know that I can probably run them off the arduino without any problems helped by the arduino servo library, but can I just plug them in directly to the arduino or do I need a resistor in between or something? And question 2 How do I make my robot controllable via R/C? How do I put those circuits(?) together?

Experimental RC Robotic Hand

Introducing my Experimental RC Robotic Hand. I'm going to use it for a robot that I will use to take on Ro-bot-X's "Search And Rescue" Challenge. It's purpose is to get a hold on the drink, obviously. This is only Version 0.2, I'm am currently building a lighter and easier to use grabber to replace the heavier hand that is attached to the winch motor.  More updates soon.

remote control's

hello i was watching the lates on hobby robtics on you tube and it had 100 things to build or something like that anyway the second one was to build a remote controll for your robot so you dont have to reprogram it every time you want to test something out. i have no idea how to go about doing this. i think he gave some information but i did not understand any of it. please could someone help.

p.s. i use picaxe if that makes any difference
