Anthropomimetic Robot

This is a rather cool looking robot that is constructed more like a human with bones, muscles and tendons. We have seen some similar designs on LMR before, perhaps earlier attempts by the same team?

"Jar of Firefly" part 1 - Early Summer Project

"Jar of FireFly"

Ok its a start before the summer comes - by then the jar.....or a bigger jar will be full of Anamatronic FireFlies.

The idea is that the jar just keeps them safe - then i can open it up take them out and deploy the fireflies onto a bush or tree etc-etc

They will be controlled by picaxe 08s (128byte brain) in theory 1 picaxe will control 3 Fireflies.

I have seen a number of fantastic Hexapod style robots, most using laser cut parts and very expensive servos. Chopsticks is a robot Spider made from cheap standard … Read more

Polymorphing a Webcam

Today I decided that my Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX webcam needs upgrades. I got the camera, some polymorph, plumber's tape, hot glue and couple of servos. Let's see what we get when we put those together.

Ooops! I forgot to take a picture of the original camera. If you have never seen a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX webcam there's some pictures of it at least here. There's might be some pics at Logitech site too but since this is a discontinued model they could be hard to find.

Swiss Milka Cow "Colour Match System"

Swiss Milka Cow project takes on some colour.

Firstly :- New body made (old one to flimsy) and also replaced motors again .....now with 10,000 rpm racing set (its an easy mod to do on all the GM motor range - just have to be careful not to strip the gears.....) - also IR remote installed and an Arduino Mega as brain.

I have removed the old bi-colour eyes and replaced with high intensity RGB ones instead.

Also i have installed a RGB led into the lower Jaw bone and along side an LDR to detect the reflected colour.

Death of a tripod, a polymorph tragedy :(

This was my camera tripod used for videoing my robots at ground level.
