Can you offer too many amps?

I have this multicopter. it is a flying robot, with one huge, powerful LiPo underneath.

I say it again, it is huge, and it can pull a car with all the amps and burst-c's that I dont understand.

Building the thing was terribly nerve wrecking - though it mostly was made from other peoples semi-premade parts. Because; I have extremely delicate 3Volts electronics side by side next to stuff that needs cables fat as a thumb, because of all the juice (in lack of better words) they have to let through.

Now, my question is this:

Windshield wiper motors, have you tried'em?

Have any of you experimented with windshield wiper motors? I know they've been used in budget robotwars fighters. I just need to get an idea what kind of strength they have (with the original gearbox).
Will it be able to pull 20 Kg vwith a 20 cm diameter wheel mounted directly to the output shaft? what abot 50 Kg? -or a 100?

Questions about my Arduino Motor Controller

hi guys I have bought an Arduino and the Arduino Motor Shield from adafruit. The tutorial on Ladyada says that I can power a motor which has a capacity up to 36V. So i programmed my arduino to run a motor on M2 and then when I check the voltage supply over there its just 3.17 V. So how do I power a 5V motor. Also the amperage on the pin is only 0.49A whereas Ladyada says that I can power a motor upto 0.6A and 1.2A peak.Is everything correct with my shield. I have also read that I can power it from an external supply-How do I do that? How will it help me?

How to measure Amp?

Could somebody explain in a very easy way (with a drawing of what goes to what) show how one measures how many amp a motor is taking?
