Face Tracking Using OpenCV and Processing (Error) [SOLVED]

UPDATE: As i said guys, when the face tracking program is launched immediately on start-up, i don't get this error, otherwise i do. Now, the program has launched, without an error, but the display output is totally black. Any suggestions guys?

I also referred to CP's solution to this same problem, ON A LAPTOP, but to no avail. I installed quicktime, and a vdig driver, but no progress till now.

Hello guys,

A better way of debugging sensors with a realtime plotter

Debugging sensors on a microprocessor can be a hassle and the most used approach is to output the sensor values to a serial monitor. I made a realtime plotting tool which is a better and more visual way of doing the same thing. I created this software to debug an Arduino Due on my self-balancing robot.

Send data from Processing to Arduino

Hi everyone,

I am trying to send 70 values from Processing to Arduino (as fast as possible), in order for Arduino to feed with these values a servo driver shield. What I tried to do in my code is to send the data one by one and each time a value is received Arduino confirms that to Processing in order to move to the next one. However my code doesn't works properly. Please have a look below to see what mistakes do I have, or if you have a better solution for the procedure please share it! Thank you for you time!

arduino and kinect!

Hello guys,

I have built a set of devices (input and output) where a kinect scans the motion of an object and feeds with data 64 servos, using a servo driver shield (http://www.adafruit.com/products/815), an arduino uno and processing.

The probelm is that I am having some kind of overflow and thus I am using a 3s delay to make servos work the right way! I haven't found out yet if the problem is caused by the serial communication or the processor of arduino...

Controlling servos using processing and standard firmata

I am working on a biped robot that I am running using Processing and servo firmata on an arduino uno.  This works fine and I have a decent walking gait.  I would like to include an accelerometer into the robot to give the robot more stability.  So I decided to switch over to standard firmata on the arduino so I can use the i/o.  The problem is that with the standard firmata none of the servos work eventhough the servo library is still included in the standard firmata.

Fixed! Processing and OpenCV display issues

UPDATE:

Steps needed to solve problem:

  1. Install Quicktime 7
  2. Install a vdig driver: http://www.eden.net.nz/7/20071008/
  3. Run Processing in compatibility mode for windows xp sp 3

The reasons why this all needs to be done is extremely long winded and to be honest I thought it was a bit of a bad joke really, but it's all operational.

Thankyou for the help.

So as some of you may know I dabble with OpenCV using programming but lately its been doing my head in.

Serial monitoring

Hi.

Does anybody know of a decent freebie transparent serial monitor? I've been having some trouble with processing and arduino, (see this), and I'd like to be able to compare what processing and the arduino terminal are sending so I can find the problem.

Thans in advance.

Trouble with arduino/processing

I've been trying to teach myself Arduino and Processing, and I've been hitting a few problems. I had a previous post Here, but it was getting a bit crowded with code, so I thought I'd start a new post.

Processing-Arduino serial port problem

I've picked up an arduino to start working with, and have currently slung together a bit of code to toggle the on-board LED over serial. I've also modified one of the Processing demos to use as a GUI to turn it on and off. However, my arduino is on COM6, and if I try to change the port on Processing to anything other than 0, it comes up with an error. I know the arduino code works, as I've tried it with the arduino serial terminal, however the processing app doesn't want to play ball.

Most of this is described about in the video however this is a little more indepth and more story driven. My first 'real' project, and first post on LMR. Read more

Arduino to processing

So I have a Sharp IR sensor connected to my Arduino, feeding to my pc the values of its analog input, via the Serial connection.

To do this, I'm using the Serial.write() command. I want to be able to read these values into processing, but when I use the Serial.read() command in Processing, the values it picks up are nothing like what the Arduino Serial monitor is giving me, and are unaffected by the IR sensor.

What am I doing wrong, and how can I get processing to read these values from the IR sensor?

Any help is appreciated.
