Let's Make Robots!

Help on traction for a biped

I am currently working on what is my second robot project.  It is a simple biped.  It relies heavily on balancing itself on one foot for walking.  The feet are cut sheets of PVC and are giving me some slipping when it walks.  I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for something to give it a little more traction when it walks but with out making it too sticky.  I am hoping to have some more details and pictures or video up next week if anyone needs more information.  Thanks.

The µBipedino robot is a tiny biped with 2 servos per leg. With a 2x2" custom made main board and another one for the head, this little robot can walk, turn, … Read more

Arduino biped code

I'm building a 4 servo biped robot, but I barely know any arduino. I just need a code for this bit to walk and then I could learn off that code for future robots. Thanks if you can help.
It walks forward in a straight line.

This robot runs on an arduino uno and it has 4 servos to walk. It will use a sliding counter weight to so one servo will be able to lift the other half and this … Read more

Biped robot

Okay. If you know i am building cheap 4-DOF biped.
If you want to know what would it be,it's going to be like EasyBotics Easy Biped :O

I got some ideas and i ordered 4x Hextronik HXT900 servos.
Next thing i buy is PCB making things and PicAxe 14M.
I make chassis when i get some plastic sheets.
But i can tell you some things:
- It has a homemade IR sensor
- And led eyes
- I can modify it easy to walk and avoid obstacles or be a sumo or dance
- I may add an IR receiver to remote control mode

For the sake of it, I wanted to see if I could make a really simple biped - and this is what I came up with :) I thought it was really fun to do, much more than … Read more

Li-ion 7.4v and servos

At this time, I make a humanoid robot. This one: http://letsmakerobots.com/node/27414 and now it's time to use battery power.

Help with selecting servo controler

Hello, I have made a bipedal robot and I have found a servo controller! I would like your opinion on who is what a good! One is Arduino Mini Servo Motor Drive Shield

Wheeled to Biped conversion

Greetings. *spock sign*

I have been reading a lot of these articles over a period of time while trying to develop a good understanding of robotics before I begin making them. (It's always a good idea to test the water before jumping into a lake, right?)

I started working on Peter a few weeks ago. And although he is yet to take his first full steps, progress is moving along nicely. I will try and post updates as … Read more

Inspiration to a walking robot

You may think this is a (bad) joke from me. But it is not. I love this thing, and I find it extremely inspiring.

If only I had the time, I would make a walker like this, only without a boy inside it ;)

Lord gimme time!

Mini Biped

I've been wanting to see something like this for a long time, and have never been able to make it.

A couple of people probably know games like WarHammer.

For those who dont, WarHammer is a stratagy game played with mini figurines, out of a Fantastic/Midivel times. Those figurines are generaly abaut an inch (about 2.5 cm) high, unless somekind of Troll or something.

potential platforms

So I started doing a search of toys, mainly rc, to use as a base platform for a random project. I wanted it to also includ some features that would be useful or have at least some potential, and I came across this little gem.

An Rc car, with a video camera and receiver display. Mind you the range and all might suck, but it does have potential for at least shortrange use.
