What does it do?

Maps enviroment, explores with arm, falls over.

Had a few setbacks with the old NiMh battery pack dying and the new LiPo battery packs not fitting where I hoped. Compare the old photo to the new one below. On the upside the new batteries have twice the amp/hour rating and a friend helped me get some polymorph plastic which I put to good use on Junior.

Multiple Purpose Robot

What does it do?

Obstacle avoidance, tag, hide and seek, tug of war, and line following

This is a robot that I am working on for my robotics class at school. At the end of the quarter, it will have to do hide and seek, tag, line following/endurance, and tug of war. Since some of these requirements conflict with each other, the trick is finding a happy balance that will win the most events. As of right now, all it does is demonstrate that it can move forwards/backwards/turn, but sensors will be added to it soon. Right now, the wiring's a little messy, but it will be cleaned up once everything is put on the robot.

What does it do?

Navigation and Mapping

With my new-found knowledge from my last test base comes the new tail-dragger!

This robot is built from VEX parts using my own brain, servos and custom parts. As mentioned above, this unit was a 4-wheel job which served it's function as a HUGE learning experience. Now that I feel I have solidified all the seperate componants, I decided to do a full rebuild, clean-up and upgrade. As follows:

Upgraded from the standard 28x board to a picaxe 40x1

Seperate servo-connection-only conection board (with room for other custom circuits)

With much help from my LMR homies, I have figured out i2c and EEPROM's!

This is just a little video of my first test. Oh, the possibilities now that I can record data!!

What does it do?

Line following for DTU Robocup

Out of pure frustration with the fact that my LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT based robot, that was supposed to participate in DTU robocup, turned out to be crap, I thought that I'd try to at least get a decent line follower ready for robocup. This robot is based on my R/C car - an HBX Bonzer Monster Truck XTI - and it will only be able to follow a black line and hopefully also be able to handle line branches.

What does it do?

Since this project is not finished yet the robot just sits there for now...

Most of the LEGO platform used for this robot was used in DTU RoboCup 2006.

PICAXE Pete is my first time using the PICAXE controller.

The robot has a homemade line sensor using light dependent resistors (LDRs) and a homemade PICAXE-board with an L293 driver chip as well (see picture).

It can either connect to a single 7,2 V pack og two of these in serial (for giving the motors more power).
