Improvements to Components & Solarbotics components on LMR

Hi, guys. I just wanted to keep you up to date on the improvements I've been working on for the site. As you probably know, a few months ago we imported the full Pololu product catalog into our Components section, and we've been talking about ways to make use of that nice big database we now have.

Punchable/stompable switch

Hi, guys. I remember reading somewhere (maybe LMR, maybe Make Magazine?) about a DIY way to make a sort of electrical switch that closed a circuit when it was punched or stomped. It had something to do with a layer of foam between two contacts -- maybe the foam was partially conductive or something? I'm working on a musical project that involves recreating something similar to a DDR dance pad, and I'm trying to figure out how to make the pads. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and maybe have a link or something? Or does anyone have any ideas that might prove useful? Thanks.

Nudging newbies in the right direction

As this site continues to grow and get more popular, the prevalence of "incorrect" postings (non-useful subject lines like "Help me", posting questions or ideas as Robots, asking questions in the shoutbox, etc) has increased to the point where more of our members are concerned about it.

Robot that reassembles itself after being kicked

A pretty interesting video, if a little slow. It certainly inspires me to experiment with this sort of thing myself.

I gotta say though, the last five seconds or so are my favorite part :)
