RC receiver question

Hey LMR!

I need your help on this one: Above is the RC setup I'm planning to use in my next project. I extracted it from a wrecked RC plane I got my hands on. As you can see it's quite basic: a 4-channel receiver, speed controller + motor and servos. I know that each controller function corresponds to one of the four designated outputs on my receiver. You'll notice there's also another output port, labelled 6/B:

Homebrew tilt compensation?

Honeywell's datasheet on the HMC6343 compass states that tilt compensation is made using data from a built-in three axis accelerometer. I thought that a cheaper three-axis magnetometer- accelerometer combination is much more reasonable for small scale projects, so my question is: What kind of calculations do I need to perform to get a decent degree of accuracy?

 

Schottky diode bridge IC for L298N?

Hi all!

Noob question: I'm using the L298N dual full H-bridge to drive my robot's 4 motors, can someone please give me the name of a chip that contains schottky diodes in a bridge configuration, so I can use it on the outputs to block back EMF? I know that there are such ICs since I recall a friend using a 16-pin DIP in a similar occasion, but I can't remember it's name. I think it started with "L".
