Wired Control with Buttons and Analog stick for Mini Arm

ok. Im trying to build a minature arm to lift and move small things. Ive got it built with 4 servos connected to a picaxe 28X project board but i really have no idea as to how i am going to control it. Ive bought a couple of playstation analog sticks which i want to use to control the robot but i do not know how to connect or encode them.

So can anyone make a suggestion as to how i would go about this. thanks

Altered 'Start Here Bot' Code

Im trying to run my start here bot that is has a tamiya twin gearbox and SRF05 instead of the IR sensor on it. All the components work, just not together. I wrote my code (most copied from frits) but my robot just goes forward and back, sometimes sideways about 2 centimetres. Can you post anything wrong in the code that may help to fix this problem

fritl's code didnt work with my start  here bot so i re-wrote it and my bot did the same thing that it did with frits'. it just sits there turning its head from side to side

i could not get the sharp sensor test to work... the value just stays the same

I found a remote control i want to use it to control my slightly altered start here robot. Do i have to change the code on the remote.If so can you post it??? Also what extra code do i have to put in my picaxe

H-Bridge Motor Driver 1A

the store that im buying all my gear for the start here robot doesnt stock the l293d motor driver

they do, however have the H-Bridge Motor Driver 1A which, in the description, is said to be a replacement for the L293D

is that true??? should i buy it or just go to another store to pick it up?

im looking to control my picaxe robot wirelessly by either my computer or remote control..
what is the cheapest method and how would i go about doing it?

im looking to upgrade my Picaxe 28X robot to be controlled by with bluetooth....
if i get a USB adaptor module to plug into my computer what should i use to recieve the signal?
also what kind of program would i need to control the robot?
