MURCS - Sneak Preview

Hi,

this is MURCS - Multi Use Robot Construction System. My first self design chassis using laser cutted parts. Today the parts arrived and I have quickly assembled them for a foto shooting. 

The neon green chassis looks great. 

 

The design was made with SketchUp, my favorite tool for 3D design. This is a early design using a second platform.

Permanent Google+ hangout

What is a hangout?

Google+ hangout is a multi user video chat. Upto 10 users can join the hangout at the same time. A permanent hangout doesn't mean there is already somebody available. It just means the hangout is never ending, it is always available under the same link.

Dagu 4 channel motor driver fried

Hi,

I have fried my 4 channel motor driver and don't know how this can happpen. As you can see in the picture the Dual FET IC  U10 for motor 4 is blown away. This happened during a first test of my IOIO-SHR v2 robot. Before connecting the motor driver the program has been tested with an oscilloscope, all Outputs are working as expected. All connections has been double checked. Power supply testet with an voltmeter. Each PWM pin can be controlled from the Android phone with a Slider of my test app. PWM frequency was 1kHz.

IOIO-SHR version 2 sneak preview

Started this weekend with the 2nd version of my IOIO-SHR (Start Here Robot). Because Santa brought me a Rover 5 chassis on christmas, this would become the chassis for it. I got the 2WD version including wheel encoders and the motor controller board.

Here are some shots from the assembly test.

The IOIO is mounted on a carrier board with 3 pin headers for all IOs. Some Jumpers are available to select the supply voltage for the IO headers, 3.3V, 5V from the IOIO or external servo voltage.
