Taking Video From a Webcam in OpenCV

So I have been trying to get OpenCV to work. I displayed some pictures in windows and simple stuff like that. Then, following along in my book, I attempted to write a program which would take video from a webcam and place it in a video. Here is my code:

#include "stdafx.h"

#include "cv.h"

#include "highgui.h"

main( int argc, char** argv ){

cvNamedWindow( "Webcam", CV_WINDOW_AUTOSIZE );

CvCapture* capture;

Sphinx 4

Ok so I downloaded Sphinx 4 and I am attempting to use it with Java. I am using Eclipse and this is all going down on a Windows XP. I have downloaded everything I need but I can't seem to figure out which JAR files I need in my library in Eclipse. I was wondering if someone who has some experience with Sphinx could offer some insight into how to get everything set up and running so I can start coding. I basically need to know which JAR files I need in my library. Thanks for the help!

Acoustic Noise Reduction

So in another forum I explained how I was using power screwdriver motors to move my rocker bogie suspension system. So I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on how to dampen the acoustic noise(not the electrical noise) coming from these motors. They use planetary gearboxes which I know are notorious for being loud but I need the torque that they provide. I was planning on using some sound proofing material to dampen the sound but I was wondering if you had any ideas. I know it is kind of a weird topic but thanks for your help.

Pop Rivet Gun

So I was doing some riveting a little while ago when the mandrel of one of the pop rivets got stuck in my rivet gun. It had snapped off but it still remained stuck in the gun. I have attempted to remove it but all attempts have failed. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for how to remove the mandrel. Thanks

Robot Building Time

I just wanted to start a discussion about how you find time to build robots. I know that I love building robots but sometimes I can not find any time to do this hobby.

Power Screwdriver Motor

So I bought a few power screwdrivers for the main drive motors for my new robot project. I have started creating a rocker bogie suspension system out of PVC pipe. This suspension will require 6 drive motors. The power screwdrivers run on 4 AA batteries. So the motors are 6 volt. By browsing the interwebs I figured out that one AA battery supplies about 2.4A. So I figured that each motor would require 9.6A. But since I have 6 motors I would need 57.6A. This would require a huge SLA which would weigh about 20lbs and cost around $100.

USB for Mic jack

So a friend recently asked me if it would be possible to replace the USB jack on a set of headphones with a Mic jack so it could be plugged into and ipod. I said I wasn't sure. I know it isn't really robot related but it was an electronics question and I figured this was a good place to ask it. Thanks

Connecting Multiple Microcontrollers

I was wondering if it would be possibly to connect multiple microcontroller IC's by there I/O ports?

Rocker Bogie

Does anyone have experience with the rocker bogie design suspension system? Also could this be converted to a tracked type of vehicle? Thanks-magykguy721
