This is a specific instance of the EEV Blog I posted the other day that bears watching whether or not you use an oscilloscope. There is a great deal of safety, theory and fun all jammed into it. I think I learned more in 24 minutes watching this than I did all of last year on the bench.
The link is to a Wired article, not the App Store. At $5 I'll probably end up getting it just for the hell of it. I like the "Rate the Creepiness" factor. It's from IEEE so you have to wonder what the point is.
Solar power is cool and there's a lot of interest in making robots that use it to charge batteries but it's not quite there yet as a technology. This link might give you a little chuckle though. Especially if you're Gareth...
