New Axepad for Linux Ubuntu users

The creators of Linux Axepad have created a .deb package for Ubuntu users. I was having issues with the other version off of rev-eds site. So far no issues with this one.

Once you have it installed you have to open a terminal and run "sudo linaxepad"

ARM CPU Assembly programming help.

I have a project in mind but I need some help getting started from you Assembly programmers.

I have a chip that I want to get a programmer for and then be able to program it.

The chip is iMX31L which seems to be related to ARM1136. I did a search for ARM programmers in google but I want to make sure I am getting the right thing.

I have been reading the datasheets here: http://www.freescale.com/webapp/search/Serp.jsp?qt=imx31l&QueryText=imx31l&baseUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freescale.com%2Fwebapp&PART_NUMBER=&SEARCH_OPERATOR=Contains&Go.x=15&Go.y=13

This is a great program for beginners such as myself. :D

Those of you who get Robot magizine prolly already know this. But for those who dont check out this site for Robotics training.

Picaxe 28x1 Digital input and output programming help. :D

I got some digital line sensors. I am trying to do these steps:

Set the I/O line to an output and drive it high
Allow at least 10 us for the 10 nF capacitor to charge
Make the I/O line an input (high impedance)
Measure the time for the capacitor to discharge by waiting for the I/O line to go low

Here is my code currenly for testing.

Electronic Switches

Ok I have a switch with 3 leads. the leads are marked 1a 1 1b

How do these connect?

I just wanna make sure my +'s and -'s wont cross causing a short in the system. I thought a rocker switch disconnected 1 of the leads. I tried searching google and here. Should I connect both -'s to the middle and both +'s to the side where it has on? That is making more sense to me since I believe 1 of the leads gets disconnected.

Thanks for your help.

For anyone in the Seattle WA area Battle Bots!

I think I am gonna build a custom sumo and go! :D

Have a question for you programmers like me out there! OOPic

I have googled this but am unable to find exactly what languages this IC supports... OOP (object oriented programming) is such mostly from libraries. What language does this support? Is it more scalable from the Picaxe basic. I do C# and Java and do it very well for 5 years. If I can use those on this Pic with its firmware that would be awesome. If its just Visual Basic then I will prolly go for the .NET serializer.

Thanks for your info...

Question about transitors

My camera does not do close up very well. But here it is anyway. The top portion is for two red led's I added and they are on a separate circuit.

A question about sound and the Picaxe 28x1

I have been following this thread http://letsmakerobots.com/node/1194 and was wondering if I made the connection like so:

speaker3.jpg

1. I cant use the darlington driver because I am using servos. What would I connect into the pin slot? It would be pin 3 since I am using 0-2 for servos.

Help! Servo is only turning clockwise

My servo is only turning clockwise the same length everytime no matter what number I have in my code.

servo 0, 150 or whatever number. It goes until it hits the end.

I have 3 wires black red and white. The black is on the pin I soldered on the Picaxe 28x1.

I have a standard servo that I bought here: http://www.hvwtech.com/products_view.asp?ProductID=878

Everything else is working. My SRF05 led is blinking when I imput the code. And my motors are working with the code.
