[ SOLVED ] Crystal oscillator for PIC

Hello folks, I'm having lot of problems with a PIC16F876A.

When I powered my newly built robot for the first time, the first thing I checked with my oscilloscope was the clock source, and found out that the crystal was not oscillating. Then I put my pic on the breadboard and started testing.

Universal AVR ISP

Hi to all, I'm quite new to AVR MCUs and I have the chips (ATmega32 16PU), but no programmer.

I'm obsessed by the word "universal", because I don't wanna buy a programmer every time I'm working with a different chip, so the question is: which is the really universal ISP for AVRs, possibly with USB connector?

Hi all, I have question about PIC16F877A... I need to interface it with other ICs like 7segment drivers,
and I have to choose between TTL and CMOS technology. But I can't find out on the datasheet if the mcu is in ttl or cmos one.
The final question is: have I to consider the 16f877a a ttl or a cmos IC?

Comunication between two MCUs

Hi all, this is the question: which is the fastest method to exchange informations between two 8-bit mcus?

I'm developing a tacho unit for a friend's go-kart. As long as I'm planning to use multiplexed 7-segment displays, I want to dedicate one micro to the multiplexing job and the other one will perform measurements and other operations ( the tacho is only a part of the things I want put on the kart )... maybe I'll use two PIC16f877a.

To have all finally working, I nedd them to comunicate, with the one telling the speed to the other. My ideas were:

Hi all, i'm wondering how i can control a motor with 2A current flow at 6Volts. I'm hacking a toy and the motors that make it to move requires that current... so i can't proceed to my plan A: the L293DNE, because it manages a maximum of 1.4A.

I don't know if exist a similar chip but wiht a higer current limit.

If You have ideas for that... PLEASE HELP ME!
