Campus Party - Berlin 2012

TinHead's picture

Hi LMR,

As you might seen on the first page a new CP is going to happen in Berlin on 21-26 August in an airport :D

I'd like to go, last time I got invited but even without an invitation the trip would be somewhere around 400 Euros including the airplane ticket, and if it will be like the last time it will be worth going.

Frits can you post some more info on this when you get some time/more inside info?

Cheers!

I need advice for a power transistor

TinHead's picture

Hi all,

Since DanM posted his laser blog I was hooked to the idea of pulse driving laser diodes.

I have created my own pulsing hardware using an ATMega328 to generate a 62.5 ns pulse at 16 Mhz, driving the diode trough an ULN2803 (Toshiba made) which seems to be able to respond well to such short pulses.

However the ULN2803 is limited in power output so the highest current I could sink is about 700mA (I know the ULN2803 is limited to 500mA yes) by parralelling outputs. At this level the ULN2803 is way over its limits and starts overheating.

What does it take for you to call your creation ready, done?

Hi all,

It seems I never can call anything I'm working on done. I always have to fix this and that, tune this and that ... in the end I'm fixing and tuning it to the bitter end as it happened to Z39 ... it never ends I'm never really happy with it, the same as with the CNC machine. Finally I just start working on something else leaving the old project gathering dust ... just to discover it after a while and start all over again :)

So how do you guys go about this? How do you arties handle this? How about you techies?

It's time to find a sunny spot in the house, put on some chillout background music, light some aromatic candles, all in all prepare to get in a Zen mood :)

Ready? Good. The last missing piece is the Solarbotics Zendulum to complete the scene:
