No - I did not give these sites permission to use the material that I have made! And there are many like that out there - and also private persons / robot builders who claim to have invented something that I have actually come up with. Often I get the "What you did was nothing special, I was going to do the same anyway" - kind of responses when I ask people at least to link to where they got inspired from..
All in all these things are not that inspiring to make me go on and make more inspiration to others :)
So - I have decided to do this:
From now on I will try to get the text "letsmakerobots.com" on videos and pictures - so at least people can see where that come from.
And the code: I will keep it semi-closed.
I will provide you with free code as soon as I see a picture of your work in progress posted on letsmakerobots.com
As soon as you have just even thought of starting your project, take a picture of anything relevant, and enter it as a robot here on LMR (See front page, top left), and PM me for the code: Contact me on the tab above this, let the subject line be "CODE", and write to me (short) what you would like with a link to your project, and I will mail you the code right away!
You can do what you want with the code, and your robot is 100% your work etc. I am NOT trying to claim any right or "I made it" on YOUR work. Even if you should follow my instructions 100%. Of course not. My instructions are not THAT good - you made it, of course, I just shared my experience and ideas with you, like you hopefully will share with others, so we can evolve together.
Only.. You will be asked (are hereby asked) to link to letsmakerobots.com if it (partly) is based on what you have read on LMR, and you are posting it somewhere else as well.
I am very glad if you even insert the text letsmakerobots.com on the video / as a backdrop on the pictures if you feel like it.
I ask you to keep the code "closed" - not exposed anywhere, and do not offer it for download.

This is simply because support is taking so much of my time, I want to build as well and make more how-to's, and I know that donating makes people have an extra try / look before just asking.
I am not paid to do this or host the site in any other way. I try to explain as much as possible and I make tutorials because I want people to have as much fun as possible, not to make money, trust me, I am not making as much as I am using time and money on this.
It is my intention that you should have fun out of it, and that you do not need my extra assistance, however it is cool if you want, and it is cool if you donate for it.
If you have not donated, do not be afraid to ask, it will not cost you, I just only feel obligated to answer donators, so now you know why you may not get an answer from me - at least the same day :)
