2 tests and 2 failures - what am I doing wrong?

Hi All,

Firstly - I am fairly new to the Arduino but have experience in C.

Accurate temperature reading

Hi,

Sorry if this post is in the wrong place but I don't know where it should really go?

Does anyone know if there is a piece of hardware that I can connect to an Arduino that will give me an accurate temperature reading.

Are thermistorsaccurateenough to get a reading from?

Thanks in advance,

James

Soldering station...

Is there a particular rated (power) soldering station that I should look to buy?  Also - what tempreature should I usually run it at for day to day use?

Thanks in advance,

James

reading serial data from more than one arduino

Hi,

Is it possibleto read serial data from more than one arduino at the same time (using a pc or similar) ?  If so - how would you rig it up andwhat extra equipment would you need (if any)?

I was trying to think if it was possible and then thought that you might get data collision?

Thanks in advance,

James

I think this is going to be a very stupid question....

... but how do I work out what size resistor I need to use when working with an LED?  I have looked around on Google but I can't find a formula / answer?

 Please can someone advise?

Arduino starter kits...

I am a newbie and dont own any kit yet but I have decided that I want to start out with the Arduino as I am a C# programmer so the C language of the Arduino is like second nature to me!

I think I'm going to go for the Arduino Mega so I have plenty of connections and memory to work with.  Problem is that I can seem to find any starter kits that come with the Mega - does anyone know of any out there?  If not - is there a suggested shopping list of things I should be starting out with to practice on - if so, what do you suggest?

'Where to start' suggestions

Hi All,

I have just joined this forum so this is my first post!

I really want to start building my own robot but I don't know where to start?  I am a C# programmer so have lots of experience of coding and I have had a look around and seen that the Picaxe chips are programable.

My question is - where should I start?  Is there a particular place I should start bearing in mind my C# knowledge?  Are there any kits out there that I can use C# with?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have for me!

James.
