Let's Make Robots!

Vote for my Club Jameco Project

I submitted a project to Club Jameco. If the project is approved, Jameco will produce and sell it as a kit, and I'll get a commission fee based on sales. Yay, money.

It's based on a design I came up with years ago. Pressing buttons and moving switches turns the lights on. Which button and switch does what changes based on how you have the switches set. It's a fun little toy.

LMR Primer - Useful Links for New Members and Old Alike

"How do I build a robot?"

"Which processor should I use?"

"Can you teach me to do that?"

These are the sort of questions we get again and again on LMR.  We're a helpful bunch of people, and we want you to have fun and learn too.  You are a very talented person.

The links I've collected below are ones that I feel may help you find what you are looking for. There are tons of other great material on LMR. Don't limit youself to the list below, but do check them out if you have questions in those areas.

LMR Donor Drawing II

As most of you know, we are planning another robotically-selected drawing to pick winners for our five LMR Donation donor prizes.

Crossed the streams! Now FetaDuino is damaged!

I was thrilled to get my hands on a FetaDuino from Rocket Brand Studios. Only now I think I have damaged it.

I was wiring in a swich on the GPIO pins. I had the switch wired to a 3-pin header, with the switch common going to the signal line, normally connected (NC) going to +5V, and normally open (NO) going to GND.

 NC <-> +5V

Fundraising

We're raising money for the development of LMRv4, and your generous donations have helped. If you haven't already, please visit our donation page for more info.

Our first round of funding was supported by Seeedstudio, who supplied some great prizes!

Seeed Studio Rocks!

What to get with my Dangerous Prototypes Free Coupon?

Over a month ago I won a coupon for a free PCB from Dangerous Prototypes. They give a chance to win a free PCB coupon three times a week on their blog page, on Facebook and on Twitter. Once in a while I make a random comment to try to win, and finally I did.

Now what the heck should I buy? I'm really having a hard time deciding.

Episode List

Maker Faire Bay Area

I haven't seen anyone post about going to the Maker Faire Bay Area on May 19-20 2012, so I thought I'd post this.

I know that RobotGrrl will have her own table at the Faire. She may have an LMR poster with her, and one of Chris' robots to display along with her own. Stop by her table and say hi if you are going.

Videos for LMRv4 Fundraising

Make Some Videos!

I'm encouraging people to record a 30 second or less video at home and send me the file, or link on YouTube or other hosting site. Doug and I will compile a video of LMR members explaining why LMR is so important to us, and asking for support. If we show the world how much we care about LMR, and what this community has done for us, they'll care too. Maybe enough to contribute a few bucks.

I've linked the videos I've received so far at the bottom of this post.
