Funny Stop Motion Robot Music Video with Keb Mo

Do you know Keb Mo's music? Pretty cool stuff.

Add robot stop motion animation, and I just had to share it.

The author disabled video embedding, so you'll have to watch it on YouTube.

H-Bridge Motor Control for DIY Servo

I'm building a DIY servo for steering Yard Gnome. I'm testing some things out while I wait for the 24VDC 30 rpm 41 in-lbs gearmotor I ordered to arrive.

I'd like some advice on my controller.

Looking for ideas for RAD 2.0

Yesterday I picked up a RAD 2.0 robot toy from craigslist for $5. What a steal! Everything works fine, even the old battery seems OK.

This guy stands about 19 inches high and is pretty darn cool. Here's a few of his stock features:

It will drive around my yard and help with chores

Yard Gnome Blog (was Mobility Scooter!)

I am building an outdoor robot named Yard Gnome to help around the house. I'm starting from a mobility scooter, kettcar and other parts.

Recommendations for steering

I'm building a yard bot. The initial blog is posted for my Yard Gnome already.

This robot will steer like a car, with one drive motor pushing two rear wheels, and a two-wheeled steering mechanism up front.

I'm looking for recommendation for how to automate steering on this thing.

Is there an affordable servo that is strong enough?

Should I build my own servo?

Cute Lego Felt Tip Printer

A friend forwarded this to me. Cool application of Lego to make a printer. The video author's comment on YouTube:

"Lego felt tip 110" printer connected to an Apple Mac.  This is not a kit you can buy and does not use MindStorms. I designed/built/coded it all from scratch including analog motor electronics, sensors and printer driver, the USB interface uses a "wiring" board.

Once again, this is not my work. I'm just posting something I found cool.

Power regulation on 24V system

I need some ideas for deriving power for the electronics and servos on Yard Gnome. YD has a single large 24V motor that is powered by two 12V batteries in series.

Steampunk Robot

I attended the 2010 Steampunk Worlds Fair in Piscataway, NJ.

This bot took first place at the Mad Science Contest.

Here is a less dramatic, but more in focus picture.
