Jinnarin's third robot (YDM clone). (Updated: 9-1-11)

Hi all. I have been away for some time (health reasons), but I am finally back and starting on my third robot. You can see my first robot here and here, I never made a page for my second robot, as it was just a remake of the start here robot (maybe it will make a special appearance).

Weird error...

PING))) and Picaxe 18 (here we go again)

I have read and researched how to connect the PING))) and Picaxe 18 together. I don't need to know the code to write, thats easy enough to figure out once you have made the connections. What I NEED to know is how to connect the two things together? Believe me, I have RTFM, I have researched everywhere online, and I have read Datasheet after Datasheet, and all I have have found is a lot of people arguing about why and why not.

This is extremly frusrating. I am about to throw the Picaxe 18 away.

Jinnarin's First Robot

Hi everyone. After weeks and weeks of tracking down parts and waiting for them to arrive I have finally started construction on my first robot today, i'm so excited! I am following Fritsl's tutorial "How to make your first robot". I would like to thank Fritsl for inspiring me to make a robot!! This is something I have wanted to do for a long time but never knew how.

Now on to the pics!! (sorry for the low quality pics, I am hoping to get a new camera next week.)

Sharp GP2D120 vs SRF05

Hi everyone,

I just completed the "Start Here" robot. I used a Sharp GP2D120 for the eyes and I used Fritsl's programming for the "Start Here" robot. I do not have any experience with programming but once I get this robot done then I will be able to learn more.

I have noticed that the robot is very slow, i.e.: It drives a little forward, then stops, and takes a reading, repeat. I assume this is because the robot is stopping to take a reading. If that is correct, then the SRF05 is better because it can take readings without having to stop the motors?

Sampler board with microphone and speaker

Can anyone give me a working link for a "Sampler board with microphone and speaker" that is needed for the Yellow Drum Machine (I live in the USA). The link on the tutorial will not wok for me. I have googled it but the only items I find are well over $400USD.

Thanks in advance!
