Help needed

Hey guys! Recently i got an idea to make a voice controlled robot using a Arduino Uno board and EasyVR voice recognition module. But the problem is I never used a Arduino before and I got no idea of how to program the board for voice recognition.
Can anyone help me with that? I would appreciate even the slightest help :).

Car alarm remote control repurposing

A while ago, I got hold of a car alarm unit and its two remote control fobs. When i hooked it up to 12V I realized that it didn’t  work, not responding to any of the commands from the two fobs even though their batteries were OK. Naturally, I opened up the unit to start harvesting parts and noticed the RF module within (the one that sticks out perpendicularly) and I figured it shouldn’t be too hard to use the module with an Arduino.

Kinect and wheeled versions under development

We were pointed out that tracked version might have problems on thick carpet or wet tiles. That is why we want to try the wheeled version and compare the performance on different surfaces. Any thoughts whether it will drive better then tracked version? Some pros/cons of wheels vs. tracks?

Arduino Uno

Hi there

I recently bought an arduino uno board  and i want to connect an external power supply (about 9v or more ) where i must connect it

The new "Shark" model of our robot

Last year we spend considerable amount of time building the new version of our robotics vehicle. Here is the result - the small tracked vehicle which might be intereresting for researchers in robotcs, AI, computer vision as well as for DIY enthusiasts. All the model, assembling instructions and software are open source.

The Passing of a Loved LMR Member.

Unknown to many LMR members, but here from the beginning, has been Bondo the Dog. The best damn shop dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and never further than my ankles as I recorded almost every video posted here at LMR.

Bondo passed today at 5:00 PM. Bondo was my protector, companion, best God Damn shop dog who ever lived, and my best friend. He will be dearly missed. He was my hero.

Rocket Brand Studios/ CtC Update 1.14.12

Well, RBS had a pretty darn-good December and it seems the Tadpoles are exactly what folks have been looking for. I decided to take the move to the new house as an oppertunity to go through the whole shop, tune-up, square-up, shapen and/or lube just about everything I own. I did a good tear-down/rebuild of the CNC and I even built a whole sound-proof room just for milling.

Yup, RBS is growing faster by the day. 2013 is already shaping up to be a good one.

Booyakasha.

Flea Market Find, Crawler Bot

Found this RC rock crawler missing battery cover and remote at our local flea market. For only $2 thought it would be a good start for a bot. Will use the arduino that I already have for this I think.

Disassembly was straight forward, 4 screws on truck shell 8 screws on board cover and all is exposed.

I got trouble with the programming.

Hey guys, I'm new to this website and I have been building robots before and this website has been inspiring to me. :)

New

Hello everybody, I'm Acer. I'm one of Aaronsuper1's schoolmate. I'm a bit new to robotics. So I need help. I'm making a free form arduino. I'm waiting for aaron to bootload an atmega328 for me. Gonna buy parts tomorrow. Any tips?

Magic blue smoke

As part of a mixed set of robot parts I bought on ebay I received this Dagu 4-Channel Motor Controller. On the back there was a trace broken so I soldered in a wire to replace it and hooked it up to the Rover5 (from the same set). Wired it to an Arduino UNO and programmed it to run a motor test. Applying power to the board, before the Arduino had even started PWM, one of the driver ICs began smoking.

Master Mk.1

This is the new blog for my MASTER robot. Given the suggestion about linking blog posts to robots, I thought I would start a build log and make a few notes about each part as I went along. I am already keeping the odd note about things so I dont forget them, but this way they are easily accessible and harder to lose (kind of like free cloud storage, but only for robot stuff)

Robocop...ies

Sometimes, there are robots that are good as they are. It's not worth even to try to do my own spin of them. But because I like them so much I would like to have them/build them. So, I dedicate this blog post for reporting my assemblies of robot copies of other people famous robots in which I've just followed the instructions.

Arduino Wavefront Algorithm

First Up... If you want to find out what Wavefront Mapping is all about head over to the Society of Robots Tutorial. It has a great wtite up and its where I first learnt about it.

Basic's done, So lets talk about Map size limits.....

The Arduino 2560 & 1280 both have 8k of SRAM (where the map is stored)

I'm using an array of Int's, each Int is 2 Bytes, so max size would be the square root of 8k / 2.

8192 / 2 = 4096

Sqaure Root of 4096 = 64

NerdCam3D has arrived

Hi folks,

it really has been a while, my last post is months ago. But in the meantime I have made major progress. First of all I have bought an Axial Wraith, a RC-car that offers lots of hardpoints to mount and attach devices. Then some guy from the Geman FPV-community made a small GRP-case for the camera. In this way I was able to crawl through my backyard in FPV for the first time (see 1st attached video).

Project Reprap Rostock Rosblog (Hopefully not ROSFLOP!)

Thought I would start a blog documenting my rostock build. Hopefully this will help some other noobs work out the minutae of a project involving so many disciplines!
